I am again back.Today I have for you look into the past.Our squadron had a lot of different colored aircraft.One of them is Mig-21 nr.7701.This plane got a special marking during his service in ,,Stress Team" (it was special testing squadron).It was used as a display aircraft for airshow.But the end of his service he was assigned to our squadron.And we would like to show to you ,,How was made" his last painting.

Suturday 18. 6.Two Gripens were guided to non responding Airbus A340 of Etihad Airways. Gripens has got order to return to AFB Pardubice after establishing radio communication with A340.

Saturday, 6 August 2011 at 8:30 PM.
QRA Gripens have been activated to catch up a plane at altitude 11km without communication. The plane was identified as Boeing 777 Cargo FedEx (USA) near Brno at 8:37PM.

As far back as I remember these photos were taken way before New Year... I mean # 9243 along with another plane #.

By the way, Marti we're so close each other and we know so little about us. I'm interesting.. what types of missions are you doing on a daily basis during routine sorties and how many sorties do you fly a year?

ps. Is it true, that JAS cannot carry Aim-120 Amraam missiles on it's wingtip hardpoints? Only Lima/Mike Sidewinder up there, one hungarian Gripen pilot told me so.

Sorry but I can tell you the types of missions and etc.But I can tell you that the main task of our squadron is air defence of Czech Republic and air policing.And we have more than 2000Fh every year.

Yes the JAS-39 can´t carry AIM-120 on wingtips,but on wingtips can be AIM-9 P/L/M/X , Python 4, IRIS-T or A- Darter.It only depends on user which equipment ( missile ) buy.

The last week two pilots from Čáslav successfully completed independent air-to-air refuelling with a one-seat version of the JAS-39C. Each of them managed to successfully connect to the tanker C-130 Hercules several times during the independent training flights.
